What Does The Foundation Do?

  • Promotes education enrichment by funding innovative programs, creative materials, and special events and activities
  • Enhances the distinct reputation of the Franklin Lakes community by supporting the highest standard of educational excellence
  • Affords Franklin Lakes’ residents the opportunity to make tax-deductible contributions, which directly benefit the children of the Franklin Lakes School District
  • Works closely with the Board of Education to ensure consistency between Foundation–funded programs and the goals of the Franklin Lakes School District

Why is The Foundation Necessary?

  • The Franklin Lakes School District operates within budget limitations mandated by the state of New Jersey.
  • The budgetary “caps” restrict the size of the Franklin Lakes School District’s educational budget and consequently, the range of its educational endeavors.
  • The Foundation protects against state financial limitations by providing funding for innovative, creative, 21st century education through mini grants and awards.
  • The Foundation is committed to funding innovative education not possible within the constraints of the Franklin Lakes Board of Education budget.
